Instructor Course
Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Instructor Course | 8-Hour CAPCE Accredited* | In-Person or Virtual
The Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Instructor Course is an 8-hour live lecture and hands-on course that is intended to certify instructors to teach the Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Provider Course at their department and earn credits. The course uses the basic tenets of ACLS training as the foundation while still covering the basic pediatric ALS principles and nuances. The course focuses on the skills needed to rapidly and accurately treat the sick and injured pediatric patient.

Course Content
- Key principles in pediatric advanced life support geared towards pre-hospital providers
- Systematic approach to pediatric assessment with a scientific explanation of the difficulties associated with pediatric care
- Overcoming the emotional hurdles associated with pre-hospital pediatric care
- Recognition and management of respiratory, shock, and cardiac emergencies
- Medication principles including dosing, administration, and error prevention
- Effective communication as a member and leader of a pre-hospital team
- In depth description of Course administrative responsibilities including provision of CEUs.
Course Format/Time
- 8-hour course plus time for lunch and breaks
Course Completion Card or Certificate
- Instructors who successfully complete the Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Instructor Course will receive a completion certificate (print or e-Card), valid for two years:
- Instructor candidates must actively participate in, practice and complete all clinical scenarios
- Instructor candidates must complete the Handtevy Course post-test with a minimum score of 84%
Course Prerequisites
Instructor candidates preferably have 5 years of clinical experience and history of one of the following:
- AHA or NAEMT Course Instructor
- Field Training Officer
- Hospital Educator

Provider Course
Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Provider Course | 3 to 8-Hour CAPCE Accredited* | In-Person, Virtual, or Hybrid
The Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Provider Course is a 3-hour Virtual, a 4 or 8-hour In-Person, or a 6-hour Hybrid lecture and hands-on course that focuses on the skills needed to rapidly and accurately treat the sick and injured pediatric patient. The course uses the basic tenets of ACLS training as the foundation, while still covering the basic pediatric ALS principles and nuances. The course and is intended to be used with the Handtevy Pediatric System.

- Provider candidates must complete the Handtevy Course post-test with a minimum score of 84%
Course Prerequisites
- Provider candidates must have a minimum of EMT level certification and be able to provide proof of such if requested
