Course Content
- Key principles in pediatric advanced life support geared towards pre-hospital providers
- Systematic approach to pediatric assessment with a scientific explanation of the difficulties associated with pediatric care
- Overcoming the emotional hurdles associated with pre-hospital pediatric care
- Recognition and management of respiratory, shock, and cardiac emergencies
- Medication principles including dosing, administration, and error prevention

- In depth description of Course administrative responsibilities including provision of CEUs.
Course Format/Time
- 8-hour course including time for lunch and breaks
Course Completion Card or Certificate
- Instructors who successfully complete the Handtevy Pre-Hospital Pediatric Instructor Course will receive a completion certificate (print or e-Card), valid for two years:
- Instructor candidates must actively participate in, practice, and complete all clinical scenarios
- Instructor candidates must complete the Handtevy Course post-test with a minimum score of 84%

Course Pre-Requisites
- Instructor candidates preferably have 5 years of clinical experience and history of one of the following:
- AHA or NAEMT Course Instructor
- Field Training Officer
- Hospital Educator
