Course Description
The Handtevy Instructor Course is an 8-hour live lecture and hands-on training designed to certify instructors to teach the Handtevy Pediatric Resuscitation & Readiness Course (PRRC) and/or the Handtevy Newborn Resuscitation & Obstetrics course (NROC) at their agency or institution. Delivered in a conference or classroom environment, this course combines interactive discussion, scenario-based learning, and hands-on skills practice to prepare educators to confidently deliver high-quality pediatric resuscitation training.
The course builds on the foundational tenets of advanced life support education, emphasizing the specific clinical and emotional challenges of pediatric emergency care in the pre-hospital setting. Participants gain instructional proficiency, practical teaching skills, and administrative knowledge to implement the PRRC within their organization.

Course Content

Course Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the course, instructor candidates must:
- Actively participate in all classroom lectures and skill sessions
- Successfully complete all clinical scenarios and teaching demonstrations
- Achieve a minimum score of 84% on the Handtevy Instructor Post-Test
Upon successful completion, participants receive a Handtevy Instructor Certificate (print or e-card), valid for two years.
Pre-Requisites
Course Pre-Requisites
- Instructor candidates preferably have 5 years of clinical experience and history of one of the following:
- Must be certified/licensed as an AEMT, Paramedic, RN, PA, or MD
- AHA or NAEMT Course Instructor
- Field Training Officer
- Hospital Educator
