The Blended Handtevy Instructor Course is designed to prepare qualified clinicians and educators to teach the Handtevy Pediatric Resuscitation & Readiness Course (PRRC) and/or the Handtevy Newborn Resuscitation & Obstetrics Course (NROC). This 8-hour blended course includes a 3-hour self-paced online component hosted on the Handtevy Learning Management System (LMS) and a 5-hour virtual instructor-led training session delivered live via Zoom.

Participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and teaching strategies needed to effectively deliver the PRRC at their agency or institution. The course focuses on evidence-based pediatric resuscitation, high-performance team dynamics, and practical integration of the Handtevy System into prehospital and emergency care.

Course Content/Format

1. Online Self-Paced Learning (3-hours)

   • Pediatric resuscitation fundamentals
   • Instructional methodology and course facilitation
   • Familiarization with the Handtevy LMS and instructional resources

2. Virtual Instructor-Led Training (5-hours)

   • Delivered via Zoom by a Handtevy Lead Educator
   • Includes guided practice with a mailed Handtevy Training Kit (returned after the session)
   • Focuses on scenario facilitation, communication strategies, and effective instruction of PRRC

Upon successful completion, instructors are certified for two years to teach Handtevy courses.

Course Completion Requirements

Instructor candidates must:

• Complete all online modules and attend the live instructor-led session.
• Actively participate in all hands-on and scenario-based exercises.
• Pass the Handtevy Instructor Post-Test with a minimum score of 84%.

Graduates will receive a Handtevy Instructor Certificate, valid for two years.

This course is delivered in a traditional classroom format led by a Handtevy Lead Trainer and provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and instructional tools needed to deliver the PRRC confidently within their own organization.

The course uses the foundational principles of advanced life support education while addressing the unique considerations of pediatric emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Participants will develop instructional proficiency, enhance their pediatric resuscitation knowledge, and learn how to translate these skills into measurable improvements in clinical quality and provider confidence.

Course Content

Participants will engage in a combination of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on practice covering:

• Pediatric resuscitation and advanced life support principles relevant to the pre-hospital setting
• Systematic assessment and decision-making for pediatric patients
• Recognition and management of respiratory, shock, and cardiac emergencies
• Medication administration, dosing accuracy, and error prevention
• Overcoming emotional and cognitive barriers in pediatric care
• Effective communication and leadership during pediatric resuscitations
• Administrative responsibilities for conducting the PRRC and managing CEU documentation

The course also includes guided scenario facilitation, peer teaching practice, and administrative guidance for delivering Handtevy courses at the agency level.

The Handtevy Critical Care Provider Course is a 4-hour live lecture and hands-on course that focuses on the skills needed to rapidly and accurately treat sick and injured pediatric patients. The course uses the basic tenets of ACLS training as the foundation while still covering the basic pediatric ALS principles and nuances. The course is intended to be used with the Handtevy Pediatric System.

• Provider candidates must complete the Handtevy Course post-test with a minimum score of 84%
